What's your favorite indie video-game?

Without a single doubt mine is Factorio, I've only spent 120h on (playing without Steam, available DRM-free) and feel like I could play thousands more without being bored.
The dev team is talented, mods are first-class citizen, it draws barely anything on hardware (hours of fun in trains!), mechanic is simple yet powerful, doesn't lock you in a single view of what the game should (glares at minecraft).

Isn't the lead dev the guy who claimed statutory rape isn't real (among other fun things)?

I do think it's ok to enjoy the game and all, but I definitely wouldn't say the dev team is good considering.

Tricky

Paradise Killer is probably the indie that's highest on my list. It's a detective game on acid, and I like the aesthetics. The setting is foreign enough such that you're not sure what's possible and what isn't, so solving the case happens at the same time as learning the lore of the place.

The "incredible" was on their skill, not the human who they are. I don't really wish doing guilt-by-association of the whole team because of the dev leader, gonna change for talented dev.

It's a pretty hard one...
It has to be between The Binding of Isaac and Slay the Spire.
I have thousands of hours in both across many many accounts.

A very close contender is Noita.
That game is incredible, but it doesn't have that addictiveness factor.

If I had to pick one and only one, considering the hours I've invested in, it would be Isaac. I started with the demo back then on Newgrounds, then completed everything from the full flash version, then completed most stuff in Rebirth (except for what's in that last DLC).

Though Undertale and Hollow Knight would be right behind it
