Did anyone update already? Anything I should keep in mind?

I already noticed postgresql went from 15 to 16 so that's gonna be another headache for me, I hope they didn't break anything again regarding lua and python considering my server runs things that use these and I'd rather not have prosody trip over a lua update again.

Also very real chance that I might once again break funkwhale

Hélène and I updated. Worked great!
As a pro tip for updating, if you install and update to the lastest 39 dnf5, you can use the new system-upgrade offline command rather than going through the polkit version.
It works real nice, including on servers.
RIP fedora-upgrade you will not be missed.

as tosti said, dnf5 --refresh upgrade && dnf5 system-upgrade download --releasever=40 and then you can dnf5 system-upgrade reboot and woop, that's it (it's gonna take a while to reboot though because it does updates like on desktop so things don't break)

no regrets on either desktop or server, all works really well

I've done the update a while ago and it went pretty good. Only one minor issue that took all but 2 minutes to solve, so ultimately I think I've spent no more than half an hour getting the whole upgrade done.

The only real issue I had was with postgresql, more specifically that their package repos had changed urls and keys, so I needed to update those. They automatically upgraded with the rest of the system to grab fedora 40 packages. So now I can keep running postgres 15 until I have time to properly upgrade to 16.
