a friend sold me their psvita a while ago, and i finally managed to jailbreak it so now i can mess around with it properly. it has a built-in psp emulator and it also runs a custom firmware and the psp can run ps1 games so i can nest a playstation in a playstation in a playstation, neat.

anyway, do y'all have any recommendations of psvita games, homebrews, apps, whatever? so far i only have littlebigplanet (because LBP was my favorite game on PSP) and farming simulator (because i am just amazed at the fact this exists on a vita).

I've never used a PSVita, but the game I've heard the most good things about was Gravity Rush
I've played Persona 4 Golden (which is on Vita but got ported to PC later), and I hear there's other good multiplatform games like Danganronpa, Hotline Miami, Dragon Quest Builders, etc.

I hear the homebrew scene is very active however, the home-brew games that are getting put out seem actually quite decent

...
Doesn't it also have Skype?

Hélène I just watched some Gravity Rush gameplay and it sounds interesting. I'll look at the rest later lol

Apparently you can make Vita games with Game Maker, Unity, Unreal and Godot, so I guess that's helping to get game devs motivated to make Vita homebrews.

The PSP used to support Skype, and I once held my PSP like a phone to call a friend on Skype on the free wifi of Auchan. I had a huge smartphone before it was cool to have one! The Vita instead has Party, to allow voice chat over PSN.

lucihaj I don't know about PSVita per se, but PSP had a mondo game library:

    • MGS: Peace Walker (duh)
    • Patapon 3
    • FF7: Crisis Core
    • Monster Hunter Freedom
    • Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lion
    • Valkyria Chronicles 2
    • Loco Roco 2
    • Persona 3 Portable
    • Grand Turismo PSP
    • K*ngdom H*arts: Birth by Sleep
    • Half Minute Hero
